  This initiative promotes the protection of the Eastern Pacific’s Marine Biological Corridor in the areas between Coco´s Island and Thermal Dome (Costa Rica), Coiba Island (Panama), Malpelo Island (Colombia) and the Galapagos Archipelago (Ecuador). Although it starts in Costa Rica, we want to extend it to the Galapagos, together with the Ocean Voyages Institute, our partner NGO that is providing our first vessel. For the operation.  

If we stack ten standard supermarket bags filled with plastic waste in every meter of the coast of the five continents, we would have a rough idea of the seriousness of the problem that human-origin pollution causes to the oceans of the planet … every year! 

In this project, our goal is to induce Costa Rican artisanal fishermen communities to apply only those criteria, gear and fishing technologies that preserve the biodiversity of marine ecosystems and ensure the future sustainability of the resource. 

This project led by the For The Oceans Foundation seeks to save from extinction one of the last living dinosaurs on our planet, several of whose species are seriously threatened.  It is scheduled in two consecutive stages.
