James Chambers is an American marine biologist and policy expert currently living in Costa Rica, with over 50 years of fishery conservation and management experience. He has been involved with and led national federal agency programs (with the National Marine Fisheries Service and US Army Corps of Engineers) to protect and conserve the habitats of the nation’s living marine resources throughout their range (at sea, in the estuaries as well as into and throughout their essential migrations in inland watersheds).

You can protect threatened ocean wildlife and their habitats with a monthly donation to For The Oceans. We are thrilled to have recently acquired our first sailing vessel dedicated to educating youth about ocean conservation as well as cleaning up plastic debris. Your support of our oceans is needed now to enable us to secure a second vessel to begin patrolling Costa Rican waters to stop illegal and unregulated fishing. PLEASE DONATE TODAY!
